Hello All,

Just an update that Mr. Gecawich will be visiting our classroom either on Nov 1st or Nov 3rd depending upon when you have me.  Please be thinking about questions that you can ask him.

Hello Again,

One more thing.  Please take a moment to answer the survey question on the left side of the blog page.

Thank you,

Getting Ready to Blog with Mr. G (creator of Edutyping)

Hi All,

As you know, we have spent the last couple of days setting up class email accounts so that we can both learn about emailing as well as doing things like blogging with others.  We are preparing to blog with Mr. G, an NK parent, an NK coach, and the creator of Edutyping, our new keyboarding on-line program.

Please think about questions that you can post to give Mr. G. feedback on his program since NK is piloting this for him.  He is very interested in your feedback so that he can possibly make the program even better.  Your honest comments to him are invaluable to him or any programmer designing a program like this one.

I will be setting up a time with him when he will be able to addess any comments, issues, or questions that you post.

Thank you ahead of time for participating in this valuable experience.

Blog and Wiki

Hi All,

I just sent anyone who provided me a student email with an invitation to join both my blog and wiki.  By doing so you will be able to hear my thoughts and provide me with your own.  On my blog, please take a minute to take the survey.  It will be interesting to see how many of you may already blog and can teach me a thing or two.  Also, by joining the wiki, you should be able to see all of the pictures, videos, and podcasts.  This will be helpful if you are absent and need to know what we did in class or what the homework was that you may have missed.  Also, don't forget, now that we have edutyping, you can now complete more of the work at home and you will not have to take up advisory time to complete work.  You should try and take advantage of this online availability while it is open to you so that you can become the most proficient keyboarder that you can be!  Take responsibility for what you can learn and work hard!  It will pay off in the future.

Have a good weekend.

Hurricane Watch

Hi Again,

Well, we are back in the groove of things.  What a first hot (very hot in the keyboarding lab) it has been.  I hope you are enjoying learning about wikis and now learning a little bit about blogs.   I just heard that we will have an early dismissal tomorrow due to Hurricane Earl coming through.  Have a great Labor Day Weekend off.

Aug 24th; 1 week until school begins

Hello Everyone,

Today I went into DMS to do a little more preparations for next week.  I am very excited to share with you our new web-based keyboarding system, edutyping.  No more Type To Learn for us at least this year.  I will continue to work both at home and at school so that our first week will go smoothly.

I did a little school shopping today with my daughter.  31 stores are now open at the Warwick Mall which makes things much easier for us.

I have a paper due on Sept. 14th on using digital tools in the classroom which I have also been working on.

Many things to do before next week.  Take Care

08/13/10

Today is Friday the 13th and I'm excited as I moved a little further along with this technology class.  I have bought new speakers for our classroom as well as a digitized recorder where I will be using to download podcasts onto my wiki.  This is exciting and I see much potential that I will be sharing with all of you shortly.

The beach was glorious today and our summer fun is coming to an end shortly.  Enjoy.
